Japanese Cooking: Truffle Soy and Garlic Sliced Beef Steak

I’m so excited to share our latest kitchen recipe experiment because it’s super easy to complete and can be done in 15 minutes! It’s a great post-workout meal and you can have it on its own for your protein fix or with some brown or Japanese rice for something more filling. Here we go!

Let’s start simply with marinating your steaks (we used Angus beef) with salt and a sprinkle of pepper. Sear it on medium-high heat to the doneness you prefer. We always go medium rare for maximum flavour.

This next step is optional, but if you’d like more flavour, melt a small teaspoon of butter over it and leave to rest.

Next, cut the steak into thick slices. Look at that gorgeous colour! Mmm..

Now, we prepare the garlic soy sauce. You can use your favourite beef sauce for this or make your own soy mixture from scratch with light soy sauce, some mirin and chopped garlic. First, fry the garlic till brown before adding in the soy and mirin mixture. Add some pepper to taste and pour over your sliced meat.

Tadaa!! Just drizzle with some truffle oil and chopped spring onion or parsley and you’re ready to serve! This is absolutely mouthwatering and is so easy to prepare. Hope you enjoyed this simple recipe and itadakimasu! (:
