For those who’ve never been to Singapore, Lucky Plaza is a favourite haunt for the Filipino community here. It’s crammed with an eclectic mix of electronics, perfume and beauty stores. There are also massage joints, grocery shops, remittance services, and a whole basement full of mouthwatering cuisine from the Philippines. (Don’t miss the hot favourite, Jollibee fried chicken on L6!) It’s especially packed on Sundays when most domestic workers get the day off. You’ll see them laying out picnic mats and enjoying each other’s company in the afternoon sun. Would love to photograph them on the happiest day of the week when I get the chance in the near future. Till then!
